Trivandrum OBGYN Club was founded in the year 2000 to bring together professionals with interests in obstetrics and gynaecology on a common platform. This was to enable them to improve their knowledge and practice in this vital specialty and form a forum to translate these benefits to the betterment of the public.
It was registered on the 17th of December 2005 as a trust. Dr K Jayakrishnan was the Managing Trustee and Chairman of the Club. Dr Shanta Madhavan, Dr PV Aysha, Dr M Subhadra Nair and Dr Elizabeth Iype were the first trustees. Present members include obstetricians and gynaecologists from both the teaching fraternity and practicing clinicians from places in and around the capital city of Kerala. Prominent activities include the monthly academic meeting and an annual international conference.
